Looks like I have Overdosed on 9 Fans in my Computer case. My computer is in a computer desk cabinet so the noise doesnt bother me since its closed in. But adding the 120mm fan on the side did lower the cpu and computer case temp by 10 degree c. CPU runs at 42 and the system runs at 27 c. I guess with all I paid for in fans i could of bought a liquid cooling system....lol

I wonder what your temps would be without all those fans if it wasn’t in the cabinet.

Pipe the displaced hot air into the walls of the house ;)

Surely 9 fans will just cancel each other out? How are they arranged? :D

My 1800 runs at 35-37 with a side panel 80mm intake and a front 80mm output fan. So the air runs across the CPU through the heatsync (Aswell as taken in through the cpu fan). The air around the cpu is sucked away by the front panel fan, the only thing that would make it cooler would be bigger faster fans :D

As for watercooling... scary stuff, im staying well away from it

No. you can have 20 fans (if you can get them to fit) and they wont cancel each other out. Just depends on how you place them. Three fans on front panel...intake. One big fan on sidepanel..intake. Two on motherboard..chipset and cpu. And three on the back...out take. My temp stayed in the 50 to 60 range which was ok. but i had room for some more fans and i wanted to mod the case a little.

Yeah I know you can have as many fans as you can fit, but you need an airflow, specifically more air going out then in, air needs to be moving.

I made sure they didnt knock heads. I made real sure my cpu and system fans didnt drop in rpm. And i do agree with the liquid cooling. I really dont like water near my computer parts. Just a drop of water will mean death to the motherboard. And as for temp when not in the cabinet? I really dont have a choice....Desk was made to house the computer. The desk is a wide one. placing the computer to the side is not a choice. This Fan adding was really just a project to see how it would work out. And it seems to be working pretty good. Although I must say adding the 120mm side panel fan did the trick. I probably could do without the 5.25 slot fan. But its there and ill leave it for now.

Make sure the desk area where the computer sits is ventilated or the compartment is open when the computer is running. This is especially important if the computer runs all of the time.

yeah...i leave some space in the back....and i also leave the cabinet open sometimes. And i dont leave it running all the time...I live in florida where thunderstorms will pop up at anytime. Next purchases will be round IDE cables, 400watts powersupply and a UPS to round this project up to an end.
