Hi,

My computer is reacting incredibly strangely that has never happened to me before ever.

This happens randomly, without warning or any signs that it will start to happen.

My computer will start running too fast, almost double time. When I open the clock, the second hand ticks twice for every real second.

Mp3's, midi's, and videos I play run at double the speed. My speakers fizzle out like static when it attempts to play music, some music can be heard but half of it sounds like static. It is definetely not my speakers' fault. (logitech 640)

Every program I run speeds up, provided that the cpu can handle the program running faster, if not, the program lags down tremendously and I must force quit it.

Any ideas to what could be the cause?
A simple reboot fixes it but this problem happens spontaneously.

Thanks.

No, I really don't think this is virus related, just my cpu works twice as hard as it should sometimes
I really don't know the cause of this though.

Not that much of a CS fan anymore (too many bloody cheaters), but there was a cheat that if left running would cause similar problems to what you are experiencing. The question is, have you been cheating???

Here is a link with some more info:
