What kind of speeds can i expect from a locked 2600+ Barton pushed to 400 FSB with PC3200 RAM? And since im doing it no matter how much faster it gets, am i going to need to cool anything better than stock?
You'd be going from 11.5 x 166mhz (1917mhz) to 11.5 x 200mhz (2300mhz)...about a 20% increase in clock speed. You may or may not have to increase the CPU voltage (vcore) to get the system to run stable. The stock HSF should be fine & hopefully you have a couple of case fans. What motherboard?
