If you cannot change your multiplier in the BIOS then you have to do it by changing the jumpers on your mobo. As far as the FSB, I don't think you can go higher than 133 with that board.

Thats an AMD board, if you are using an Athlon CPU, the FSB will run at 200MHz if you set the BIOS to 100MHz, and it will run at 266MHz if you set it to 133MHz. I don't remember if the T-Birds can run at 266, you might have to have an AMD XP chip.

Dave, you know nothing about that board. I use it in my own computer and many computers I build.

The multiplier is locked on almost all thunderbird CPU's. the 1.4 GHz is the exception, but you can't run it on this board if you use ddr ram.
look at http://forum.ocworkbench.com/ocwbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum&f=27 for how to raise the FSB. Technically this board can do 166 MHZ.

Thunderbirds, some run on a 200 MHz or a 266MHZ FSB.

Buy a good mainboard, like MSI K7t266 Pro 2.
You can increase FSB and Clockratio in BIOS without any problems. My 1800+ is running at 2200+ now, only 1 degree tempertature change (32 C)! And I only have (superior) aircooling!!!! (Coolermaster HCC-001)

i have an ecs k7s5a
mobo and i have an amd
xp processor and i
found out how to
unlock it and over
clock the fsb. first
to unlock it go to a
search engine and type
in amd xp L1 bridge
connect. to overclock
the fsb you need an
unoficial bios from oc
workbench but this is
better because it
overclocks the
memory,agp,pci and isa
slots but the
downsideis that it can
stop working because
and one of the slots
that will not support
over a certain speed
will stop you from
overclocking any
further. but as a rule
to find out speeds
multiply the fsb buy
the multiplyer on your
cpu (use wcpuid to
find ths out) then as
an example i will use
an amd athlon xp 1800+
this normally runs at
133 fsb with a 11.5
multiplyer so if you
overclock the fsb to
160 the processor will
run at 1840 mhz the
memory at 160 sdr 320
ddr th agp at 80 the
pci at 40 and the isa
at 20

How to overclock. First deal with all the other issues! It wont work with 2 sticks of SDRAM. The AGP Slot is bad, must jiggle the card to get it to seat. It is power hungry, buy a bigger power supply. There are NO overclocking features that come with this board. You must flash to some hacked BIOS to get more FSB settings. Replace the CMOS battery. The chipset overheats, remove it & the insulating tape and use thermal solution. You still have no way to vary voltage for CPU or RAM. You had better be patient this mobo will test you, been there done it. The time and money you'll spend are great if that is your hobby. If want a real overclocker motherboard don't buy ECS.

To overclock Duron 1 ghz to 1,2 Ghz is much better if you use By Hardware (using update BIOS Beta only for overclock, download from OCWORKBENH)and procedure overclock using software (By CPUCOOL) is for trial and error. But Bot overclock procedure (by software or hardware) is the performance (Speed and stability. Overclock with mobo ECS k7s5a only can change FSB processor. PCI BUS, voltage processor, voltage memory let them change automaticly (By motherboard. I had Sucsess overclock duron 1 ghz to 1,2 Ghz with my spec Computer as follow:
-Mobo ECS k7S5A (With update BIOS BETA)
-Memory APACER DDR PC2100 256 MB chip NANYA
-VGA Card MEGA POWER Gforce 2 MX 400 64 MB
-HD MAXTOR 40 GB 5400 RPM
-PSU SIMBADA 350 Watt
-HSF Taisol 5000 RPM

Well..., I Hope you sucsess too.., Byeeee....

hey Biju, i am interested in your japanese bios program. i have a ECS K7S5A mobo with an amd athlon xp 1800. if someone could post a complete guide to overclocking my setup i would very much appreciate it. cooling and powersupply are already all set (system is ready for overclocking... 4 front fans, 1 side fan that cools the processor, and of course a cpu fan. the power supply is 300 watts) i just need to overclock the system. thank you very much in advance
