Does anyone else who uses this board have problems getting their computer to boot? Every once in a while when I go to turn on my system the drives fire up, but there's no beep and the monitor remains black, I can then quickly flick the switch on the back of the pc off and on and then the PC will load fine. I don't like doing this since I turn my PC on once a day and zapping the drives like that often can't be good for them.
I've narrowed it down to a PSU issue since this doesn't happen with my old generic 300W PSU, but that thing runs so hot it raises my case temp 10 degree's and my cpu temp into the 60's... so I'd much rather keep the GLC 400W PSU that came with my case since it runs so much cooler and has ample power. It only happens with this PSU on this mobo, when I take it out and put it on my other comp's it doesn't happen.
Does anyone have a fix for this? Why does the K75SA dislike this PSU? It came "P4 ready"... ugh I don't wanna keep zapping my drives everytime I start up.

Yeah, I had the SAME EXACT problem as you did with that SAME mainboard. Sorry to sound so negative, but I don't think there is a way to fix it. It's not the power supply, I had a 460W. Windows 98SE wouldn't boot, I tried setting the bios, still would boot half the time. So I formatted and installed Windows ME, same problem. Just return the MB and get yourself a MSI.

before you return anything, goto www.ocworkbench.com/ecs and look for the solution in there.
The avertised wattage of any power supply doesn't mean its a good supply. It has to be AMD approved and have a combined wattage on the 3.3 and 5 volts lines of at least 180 watts

Thanks for the responses. I've decided to go with my old 300W PSU (hope it's powerful enough) and just add a second exhaust fan below it (has cooled things down tremendously). I really wish I could use that 400W PSU but this seems to be a really picky mobo from what I read and whether or not it likes your PSU is almost pot luck. Thanks again.

This MB has caused me several problems concerning boot-up and power. Using a 300W PS, with a Geforce3 Ti 200, the machine has a 50/50 chance of a full bootup. When running any 3d game, the PC would lock hard after ~10min. I replaced the Video card with a GF2 Ti, and this seemed to fix the bootup and lockups. However, the video quality is lacking, it's as if the MB is not supplying enough power to the video card. I have static in the sound as well, which I'm not sure is related to the power issue. After about a week, my $70 PS was fried. I sent the MB back for replacement, and was told there was no problem with it. After another month, my new 300W PS was blown as well. Is this a common problem with this chipset?
