hi all!
I'm building a new budget system... I'm planning to overclock the e4300, since as i've read it overclocks like mad with stock cooling. However, I don't have that much money to spend on a motherboard... So, Can you recomend me a budget motherboard that could get me at least to 2,6 ghz from the stock 1,8 ??
The other choice I have is to get an amd x2 4400+ (am2) and a budget motherboard too... If I simply shouldn't risk overclocking the e4300 with a cheap mobo maybe I'd get that 4400 x2 since it's somewhat faster than the e4300 at stock speeds, and it would cost me about the same...thank you! any thoughts appreciated!

btw... what about these boards? they are the cheapest ones... are they that bad?

The first one is 945G with integrated video card is not good for overclocking. The second board Asus nforce 570 does not officially support 1333Mhz FSB, so why don't you look into this one instead?

This ECS board does support 1333Mhz FSB, so if you can overclock your E4300 to 333x9 = 3000Mhz, then this board would be best fit for your budget... If you also have another website you can go to, then I would check out the "BIOSTAR Tforce 965" motherboard, also an alternative for high FSB overclocking...

Leadtek 7600 AGP 590/1600 VF700 ALCU AS5

thanks a lot tmp-man :)
I might just get that board you pointed...
so, with this board, my chances of reaching a 3ghz overclock would depend only on the processor itself and cooling? Or even though the board reaches those speeds it might still affect how high my overclock is in some other way?Free
