Hi Guys,
I can either run 1GB ram with 2*512 pc3200 chips, or just add "bulk" by 2*512 and 1*1GB 3200.
Really confused over which is best - I deal in CAD and GIS = graphics plus the high end multi processing.

That's a tough call. I know that with CAD, the more memory, the better...but since your board supports 800FSB & dual channel RAM, you should probably take advantage of that as well. All I can suggest is try it with 1GB (2 x 512MB) in dual channel mode, then try it with 2GB (2 x 512MB + 1GB) in single channel mode & see which offers the best performance.
Ideally, you'd want 2GB PC3200 (2 x 1GB) running in dual channel mode to match the CPUs bandwidth.

Dual channel really is a must with this set up, its all there so take advantage of it! Simply sell your 2 half gig sticks and use the money to buy another 1G, (ebay may help you here!) the best of both worlds!
Summary: Huh? Not all DDRs are dual, they are used for single channel too. Fugro, when people talk about dual DDR, they usually refer to dual channel, but sometimes that depends on who you are talking to and ...
Summary: Hi, a bit of a newbie question for you. I am getting a P4C800 Deluxe MB with a P4 3GHz(800FSB) CPU. To use the dual DDR function of the motherboard do I just need 2 DDR DIMMs, one in each channel. Or...
Summary: I never get any "Dual Channel mode" or "Single Channel mode" string on POST screen. I updated to C1005 but shouldn't I still get the Single / Dual Channel message? I don't get any RAM or hard drive in...
