It depends. But my personal oppinion would be AMD 100%. Tend to be cheaper to.

At this time, dual core is unnecessary unless you truly have the need. And unless you currently have a board that supports dual core CPUs, you'd obviously need a new board. This could start off a whole chain of upgrades...new RAM, new power supply, new video card, etc.
Dual core offers little or no benefit to gaming right now because games have yet to be developed that take full advantage of it. And unless you multi-task, dual core really isn't needed. By the time it is needed, say a year from now, you'll be able to get a much better dual core CPU for the same price as you'd pay for a weaker one today.

i'm gonna get a new PC and i raarely play games so i was tthink about starting with a dual core chip & board. i also do lots of graphic work.
