In my last post I asked about getting memory for my amd board, and my board manufacture states it supports dual channel, but there may be a problem with that. I decided to dedicate a whole post about it. why would board manufactures state that their board supports dual channel if it's not going to help you.
so should I buy one stick of 512 for 30 bucks less that 2x256 and know that I will get the same performance as if I were to do dual channel, because of thge bottle neck?
I know this was explained in my last post, but i want more info and opinions before I go out and buy
thanx

Basically, AMD had to do it to keep up with Intel. This should help put it in perspective:

AMD didn't do it. Nvidia did.

Keep in mind dual channel doesn't come into play unless you have a motherboard that supports dual channel, such as the Nvidia Ultra 400 chipset.

And no, it's not worth $30. Buy a 512M now to allow an easier upgrade to a gig of RAM later.
