CPU/Ram: 1800xp 768mb ddr333

I'm thinking of buying a new mobo and cpu after mine blew. If i get a 949 athlon 3000 or 3200 do i need new ram. i've got 768mb ddr 333. If i do, then if i go for the 754 version do i need new ram aswell?

Your old ram should work, it will just run at its slower speed. Depending on what you are doing it may not make much difference to you. The performance testing results do not reflect what we humans actually experience. I would try it, and if it is not fast enough for your needs, you can always get the 3200 sticks. HTH

With that said, RAM prices are falling. You can get 1 gig (2x512M sticks) for $115 in PC3200 CAS 2.5. If you can, I'd upgrade to that when you do your motherboard. Sell the old RAM off to help.
