ddr is "double data rate" and goes twice as as fast. i like ddr best because 512 is enough in stead of 124 of sd-ram.

RAM stands for "Random Access Memory" it is a temporary storage area for items about to be processed by the CPU, data in the RAM is not permanently stored there. A harddrive is a permanent method of data storage, data is stored on the hard disk for later use by the cpu. Basically, data is stored on the hard disk, it is then moved to the RAM when there is a request for it and then passed to the CPU for processing. For heaps of info on various computer acronyms check:
