ok I finally tried overclocking.. I took advice from a previous post on this board and reset my FSB to 150/38.. rebooted and.. nothing.. I reboot again and hit del.. I get a totally garbled bios screen... try a couple more times and get the same.. so.. I figure no prob I will just reset the bios.. well I short the bios pins and hit start again... and now the power supply wont even power up.. I checked the PS on another MB and it works fine... so.. do ya think its my MB or CPU?? or something else im not thinking of?? PS I have an asus a7v333 MB

1st of all, 150 FSB is WAY too high as a starting point...you have to work your way up slowly. Just because one person was able to attain that setting, doesn't mean you can...even if your setup was identical (which it propbably isn't).

Anyhow, did you remove the jumper after clearing the BIOS? Maybe it didn't work? Try unplugging the power cord, then remove the CMOS battery for about 5 minutes. Then reinstall the battery, plug in the power & see if it will boot. If it does, correct all your BIOS settings, & this time, be more conservative with your overclocking.

Good luck!
