Comment: I wish to overclock my motherboard to 200Mhz, but when I change the jumper settings, I get system freezes. I moved the FSB up to 100Mhz, because it is now at 66Mhz. How can I avoid the system locking up on me? I know I am changing the right jumpers, because I have followed the instructions in the user's manual exactly. How can I speed up the system? I currently have a P1 166 Mhz in the board.

Reply: (edit)DANG IT!! That old system. How the heck can you run win 2000 on it. Anyways,,,I think 100Mhz is the highest it can handle because of your RAM. I have a 1.7Ghz @ 1.9 GHz and I have 512 MB of SDRAM and that is why I can only go up that much because my RAM just gives up. If I had the money to buy the a DDR 333MHz RAM then I would hopefully overclock it to 2.26Ghz or above. So I think your RAM is limiting you in overclocking but I would say that 100Mhz FSB is very nice. Just wondering...why don't you go out and buy a new computer or something. They are getting really cheap these days. Compared to your system...you can buy a good P4 or AMD system for 599.00 from dell or gateway and it will flyyyyy.

Reply: (edit)http://www.computersurplusoutlet.com/showproduct.asp?category=4&subcategory=11 Go to this web page you can purchase a 200-233mhz or so for about 5-10 bucks. If you look at this site you might be able to build yourself a good get-by computer for spare change.
