i accidently zoomed out and i dont know what i did
it sometimess comes up with a magnifying glass but goes straight off! it is a dell laptop!

Should be asked in the Windows 7 forum. Is it Internet Explorer you're asking about? Try holding the Ctrl key & scrolling the mouse wheel.
Control + and Control - are your shortcut to Zoom in and Zoom out. You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
