I OC'ED MY XP2700 THAT WAS INSALLED IN AN ALBATRON KM18G PRO ! SEEMED OK @ 1ST THEN CRASHED COUPLE OF TIMES THEN WOULDNT BOOT @ ALL ! WAS TOLD TO DO CMOS CLEAR! THING IS NOW, NOT ONLY DOES IT NOT BOOT IT KEEPS BEEPING @ ME ! THE BEEPS LAST 2 SECS WITH A 4 SEC INTERVAL. ( IF THAT HELPS )!THE CPU AND RAM ARE NOW IN AN ASUS MB WORKING FINE! CAN THE MB BE FIXED? OR SHOULD I GIVE IT, AND A HAMMER TO MY 2 YEAR OLD NEPHEW? ? RsPcT> LYNX32 !!!

Go to the motherboard manufacturer and find the exact beep code that you heard.. would help if you knew how many short/long beeps that there were.

Also your sure that your video card is fine and it is connected to your monitor securely. have you seen anything but beeps (text?). When you reset the bios to default how did you go about it exactly. Sorry for the double post..

Don't type in caps...it's like SHOUTING!!
How about explaining how you overclocked & how you cleared CMOS? Let's start with how it should be clocked...
2700+ = 13.0 x 166mhz/333FSB @ 1.65v = 2167mhz
To clear CMOS, 1st unplug the power cord...next, move the ClearCMOS jumper to the "clear" position for a minute or 2, then return it to the "normal" position...plug in the power cord, & boot up. Go directly into the BIOS & change the settings as necessary. You can accomplish the same thing buy removing the CMOS battery for a minute or two...just follow the same procedure, but instead of using the jumper, remove the battery, then reinstall it.
It's very important that you unplug the power cord 1st, or CMOS may not clear

SORRY !! Didnt mean to SHOUT !!! HERES THE STORY ! Thought pc was a bit slow looked in bios was running at 133 in the optimum setting changed it to 166 agressive setting !Thats it ! cpu was always reported as 2700+ during bootup at 133, I thought that was ODD! After changing to 166 still a 2700+! jumper on the board was set to 133/166 !!! jp1 is CMOS clear on the km18g pro! did that but now only beeps, no screen at all, tryed 3 different graphics cards in it just incase onboard was not workin still nothing ! RsPcT> LYNX32!!""

If the motherboard is beeping is clearly that it is working, I would rather check the ram just to be sure. From looking at a lot of different computers am pretty sure the ram is the issue here.
young chang

You did put the ClearCMOS jumper back to it's normal position again, didn't you? If you leave it in the "clear" position, it won't boot & you risk damaging the board
