I have a water cooling system I put together but not from one manufacturer. I bought 500mL of Thermaltake coolant however, my system has a resevoir and it didn't fill my system completely. Is it OK to use the Thermaltake coolant and then cut it with engine coolant. I'm sure it's a good idea to use the same stuff but does it matter? Should it or do you recommend a brand of engine coolant? Thanks in advance

I'd say your best bet would be to check with the manufacturer. My SWAG would be you could add distilled water to fill the balance of the system, but check with the Mfr. first.

Water has excellent heat transfer properties, the only reason you use additives in cars is to prevent corrosion and freezing.
