hi guys, i have a problem with cpu & motherboard compatibility, or i think i do. i recently bought a foxconn 6497 mobo and intel celeron d cpu 352 3.2 ghz cpu, but when i try to switch on, i get a blank screen. in foxconn's website, in my mobo's cpu compatibility chart 352 is not listed, could it be the problem. plus i have x800 xl 256 mb pci-e, an 1 gb ddr266 & 400w psu. my mobo supports p4/cel d 800mhz fsb, ht and ddr266/333/400. help pls!

and oh i forgot, my mobo also supports 533 fsb. i visited one of the local shops an i saw a p4 ht 541 3.2 ghz 800/1mb which i s listed in my mobo's compatibility list. if i get that one will it solve my problem. i dont want to spend $120 and still a problem be persisting.

The Celeron was a bad choice to begin with. But if you were to upgrade to the P4/800FSB, you'd also need to get DDR400. DDR266 is OK for a 533FSB Celly, but it will bottleneck the P4.

I always ask this when someone gets a new board...did you benchtest it BEFORE you installed it in the case? A board should always be tested outside the case to confirm that it works. If you didn't do it, it's hard to say what the problem may be.

i think i'll get a p4 and see what happens. if i'll still be having the same problem i'll get a new motherboard with 1066 fsb + ddr2 support. i dont like the one i have anyway (has SIS chipset)
