Hi! I've been having trouble with my cpu lately. When I bought it, it ran for a good 3 months at 1.53GhZ (it's an athlon xp1800+). Then, for no apparent reason, I noticed that at boot-up it showed me that my cpu was 1150mhz. This really had me worried and I even noticed the effects (in games and such). It's as if someone shaved off 400mhz just like that!
I'm not computer illiterate, nor am I a genius but this has me stumped. I downloaded an analyzation program and generated this txt file that shows my details.

It sounds like the BIOS got changed from 133 MHz FSB back to 100 MHz FSB in the processor setup screen.

thank you sterling! That would make sense... just wondering, should I change both the ram and cpu speed to 133 or just one of them?
(the setting goes 100/100, I suppose I should make it 133/133)

Set the thing to 133/133 if you are running pc2100 (ddr266mhz).

Summary: I'm not familiar with pcpitstop so I can't answer that question. You didn't actually name your CPU but I'm guessing it's an Athon XP 1900+. It should run at a clock speed of 1.6Ghz (12.0 x 133Mhz FSB)...
Summary: Your running the same chip set as me. I've got the MSI KT400 Ultra. What you need is to download the correct BIOS as the old one kept overclocking/declocking by its self. Go to the menu "Freqency/volt...
Summary: "replaced the 2.1ghz AMD Athlon (clock speed showed 160) with a 1.8ghz AMD Sempron (clock spped shows 200)" You need to clarify which CPUs you're talking about. I'm guessing that they're socket A? And...
