Comment: Hey. I am getting my CPU today with thermal paste and a copper shim on the side. Its an athlon xp 1700+. Do i need to apply anything to the shim? How much on the cpu?

There's nothing wrong with using your Arctic Silver 2...it's just that comparison tests have shown that it doesn't work any better than the cheap silicone based stuff that you can get for $1 at Radio Shack.
