Before replacing my mother board my cpu usage didn't seem noticeable. But now simple flash is using too much cpu, can gone up too 100% in just seconds. Even just extracting uses to much CPU than before

I have a 64bit Intel Celeron 2.53GHz processor, using a 32 bit OS.

I know that the processor is not much but its just using too much CPU usage than before.

Did you do a fresh install of Windows after swapping the board?

Not a very good technician if he told you that. There are several ways you could have retrieved your files before formatting. Who installed Windows, you or the "tech"? If the tech did it, why are you posting here? Take it back & have him fix it.

If you did it, you're gonna have to determine what's using all the processing power. It's probably some program that you installed.

Well he just format it without informing me I just found out that he did after its fixed up, I asked him why he didnt tell me first but he said he forgot.

I dont think its any program I just Installed. It just that when using programs I've used before uses more cpu. Some flash that doesnt use too much cpu before now uses 100% even on low quality setting.

It's a software problem, not a hardware problem...you have to figure out what it is & fix it or uninstall it.

Is it possible that it is my processor, maybe cause its failing.

Like for an example, an application I use shows if its running 100% or not. Before when I run it its 100% when the cpu usage is also 100% its, its suppose to use 100% cpu. But now even if it is using 100% cpu its only running on 50%.

I don't really know what the problem is, its just that it happened when I change my mother board. Its like even if that application is using 100% cpu usage it doesnt run 100%.

Which processes are actually using the high percentages ? If it's System idle process, then that's not really a problem.

Yeah I know but If your suppose to be running a game which should be the one who at least using 80-100% cpu but the processes "System" and "System Idle" is using them. System is uisng 50-70% when Im playing the game, sometimes Sytem Idle uses 50%.

Even task manager uses 30-50% cpu, thats when idle goes 0%. The game is protected by gameguard so you cant see the process.

EDIT: I've been checking things out now I think its because of high temperature. Checked BIOS settings and saw that my is temp. 70C.

Maybe because the heatsink isn't attached right or not enough paste or something. I saw something like this on the net, Dont remember where though, it just popped in my mind when I saw my temperature.

Is this the problem?
