cpu usage 100%??

i got an nvidia gforce ti 4200, and an athlon xp 2100 , my mobo is msi and 256 ddr,and when im playing any game, in the xp task manager its says that the game is using 99% of the cpu , why is this happening ?? does my video card has a problem or thats normal?

Here is an event that relates to your case. My 7200 rpm hard drive, before I downloaded and installed the newest bus master driver for the motherboard ( for the IDE actually) under windows NT 4.0, one particular task showed 100% cpu usage. After I downloaded and installed the newest bus master driver and made sure that this bus master worked under windows NT 4.0, the one particular task above now only occupied 20% or even 10% CPU usage. Reason: I change from the PIO transfer mode of the IDE channel to the UDMA transfer mode both on the primary and secondary IDE. Windows 2000 automatically has the working bus master driver for my motherboard, so this had never been the case for me. If the problem is not in the IDE-hard drive-UDMA causes as I indicated above, then there is a "bottleneck" somewhere else, could be the PCI bus, or a slow CD-ROM drive. But most likely the IDE transfer mode of PIO to UDMA and the working properly of the Bus Master in the motherboard is likely the causes of not achieving lowest possible CPU usage for some simple task.

I don't think you are having a problem. Most games will try to use as much cpu time as possible in order to ensure a smooth running game
