I have an etower 566i that I want to change the cpu to a pentium 3 733/256 L2/133 mhz. The etower's mobo supposedly support only a celeron 500 mhz and max of 100 mhz host clock. Can I still swap my p3 733 on the same mobo?? Thanks for your help.
Most intel cpu boards that I know of are made for a single type of cpu, like celeron. Boards made for AMD cpus generally take duron/athlon/sometimes athlon XP (depends on mobo).
So, if you want to go to a P3, you need to get a P3 mobo. Otherwise, you are stuck with celeron.

It is possible that your board will support the processor you are referring to. Your processor would be of the fcpga, or "flip chip" variety. Go to your motherboard manufacturer's site, and check there compatability page under support, if they have one. If not, I would contact them via email, and ask for the info.

Summary: Is your video card an onboard video card? Because onboard video cards suck off of your motherboards ram. You just need to get a better video card that has at least 32mb of ram and try shooting for tha...
