just purchased a used cpu to upgrade my system to Athlon xp 2.2. But the BIOS does not recognise the cpu and when gaming or on the internet the screen freeze's. Does the AMI BIOS require updating??? Motherboard - MS8308EP (266) Any help thanks.

I'm guessing you mean XP 2200+? There are 4 of them...2 Tbreds, 1 Thorton, & 1 Sempron. Which one do you have? Did you read your manual or check the Matsonic website before buying it?
