No!,don't do it!,laptops are made with a speed in mind over clocking or adding a faster cpu haets it internals up more than the company tested it at!(they will not offer support),I've tried on every laptop i've ever had(apple,toshiba,nec and my current ibook 600mhz combo drive)laptop cpu's are rarely upgradable!,older powerbooks,and a few pc notebooks have had that option,but the bottom line is although you may be able to fit a faster cpu in your dell,your mother boards,max ram,video card and bios will not be upgradable,if you are looking for a newer laptop though?,my suggestion if this!,have fun with it,see what you can do,even if it kills it atleast you'll know for future reference what can't be played with,and it's also fun!(atleast I think so!),
