Comment: I'm looking to upgrade my CPU to a Pentium III (the most recent my mobo will support). I want one that is cheap but has good overclockability (max o/c >1.2 GHz). I currently have a fairly old BIOS (Phoenix Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG according to AIDA32) and I can't seem to find any options for increasing FSB in it. BTW: I have a Socket 370 Motherboard, in case that helps.

Reply: (edit)Your FSB settings are probably on the board itself...either jumpers or a DIP switch. Read your manual. If you don't have one, get the model number off the board, go to the manufacturer's website, & download it. While you're there, see if you can find out what CPUs your board supports...you might wanna check to see if there's an updated BIOS too

Reply: (edit)Rather than spend $50-$70 for just a CPU, check out this combo deal from Fry's. ____________________________ The greatest risk is not taking one

Reply: (edit)Exactly, why waste your time upgrading to a PIII. You could get a decent Athlon mobo combo from Tigerdirect.com for a reasonable price. TECHZAPORT OUT!!!
