Comment: I upgraded to a 6600gt 128 agp video card, and after playing games for a while the computer would blue screen or just freeze, I changed the power supply to a quality 480w and then I started monitoring my temps , i get to about 63 and then it croaks, i put a thermal take heat sink copper based, an exhaust fan and a regular 90mm thermal take fan, but all that only dropped me to 58 during load, and 41 idle?? I dont overclock, why cant i get this thing to cool, i use dynex silver thermal compound(similar to the arctic 5) I use speed fan, cant figure this one out?

Reply: (edit)Check your temp threshold in the BIOS, you may need to raise it a little. Also make sure your heatsink is seated correctly, ensure you did not put too much thermal paste on the CPU. BTW, what is the amp distribution on the +12V rail ? StopBadware

Reply: (edit)Im getting 11.33V, I think the thermal paste is good, i just wiped and put a new layer today, ill go check what my bios is set to. Should my system fan pull air away from the cpu or push air to it?

Reply: (edit)The fan mounted on the CPU's heatsink should be blowing down on it. BTW, check your "brand name" PSU's label and tell me how much amp the 12V has on the label glued to its side. StopBadware
