I all.
Im running msi 865pe neo2.I overclocked my cpu from 2.8 to 3.0 and my temps for the cpu are little to high lol.
Im running the vulcan 7 i think heatsink/fan
and i have 2 intake and 2 out take fans ...
I was wondering if somebody could give me some advice to how properly set volts for cpu/ram/videocard right now they are 1.6 for cpu..2.7 for mem..1.7 for video card.
If my settings are the reason y my cpu is so hot can I know how shoud i set them and or different way to get the temperature lower??
Tnx in advance ....PEACE

1) You may not have to set vcore to 1.6 to clock your 2.8 to 3.0. If you have not tried 1.550 or 1.575 first, or no increase at all.
2) I don't know how you get the NB temp. But, it may well be PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) circuit temp which is found in many P4 800mhz and A64 boards. Yes, it runs hot, so hot that it could reach 100C. This is the reason Abit comes up with the cooling fan on board and Chaintech uses heat pipe on the A64. This circuit supplies the 12 volt to the processor.
3) You did not mention system temp which is vital to your CPU temp result. If you have higher than 35C system temp, you CPU temp would go up disregarding how efficient your heatsink is, as warm/hot recircle in the case. Better case ventilation with intake/exhaust case fans would help.
4) You did not mention what type of vcard you have. Don't forget both ATI and Nvidia card generates excessive of 60 watts of heat in their latest and greatest.

tnx for the advice :)
my system temp is idle 22/25 and im running an ATi 9500 pro.
But im willing to set voltage back for cpu to default to see if makes the different

My idle temps didnt change at all even setting back volts to default i was wondering if power supplie can have something to do with it
I have 400 watt p/s
What i didnt mention is that my 2 intake antec fans they run the air to a plastic L shaped tunnel strait to the cpu. The actually tunnel its well done to direct the fresh air right on the cpu heat sink , couse i though that cuold help
This piece gave me like 3 4 grades of better
of differnet 'couse before that pc was crashing for the hight temps so...
I m willing to try anything you guys say to get this temps to lower .....
TNX again LizarŠ

Well, you have good system temp and sounded you have good case ventilation.
All other voltages are within very reasonable range. From the excellent system temp of 22-25C, I'd suspect you might have inaccurate CPU temp reporting from the BIOS or motherboard.
I have a similar situation with one of my two IC7 boards. They have 10C difference in temp readings from the same setup. This particular board would give me 43C idle and 60C load running default vcore and speed with SLK800U heatsink and a loud Delta fan.
After all the tweaking around using external temp probe, I could safely conclude that this board just reports higher than actual temp by 10C. I reset it to the stable oc speed of 265FSB and 1.675 vcore. Yet, the temp never exceeds 64C, system never crashes from this setting.
The only reason I was able to find out the board temp issue was because I have 7-8 P4 and XP around, which allows me to switch things around without waiting for mercy.
But, good case temp is important, as well as case ventilation. Your next step may be a better cooler. Your heatsink is not much better than Intel Stock Unit. If you cannot find the copper base Intel Stock Unit, the SLK9XX series and Swiftech MCX478-V with sub-3000 rpm fan would yield 2-3 degrees C lower. Or, take a look at the Chill Vent, www.koolsolutions.net

I'm not an Intel guy, but I know the P4 automatically "downshifts" if it gets to a certain "trigger" temp...so overheating really isn't that big of a concern. Then again, who wants their 2.8 running at 1.8 just to stay cooler...lol
It's possible that your CPU temp is inaccurate though, the reading may actually be higher than the "true" temp. What monitoring program are you using? or are you checking temps in the BIOS? Sometimes a BIOS update will correct temp reporting errors...
Are you having stability problems, or are you just concerned about the temp reading?

Have you double checked those temps in the BIOS to make sure MBM is reporting the same temps? The BIOS "should" be more accurate...
