Cpu stuck to heatsink

I took out my heatsink and fan to replace it with a quieter one. When I took the heatsink off the cpu was attatched to it. Is this normal? How should i get it off with out breaking it?

LOL the heatsink compound got stuck to the cpu core due to high heat..that's what had happened.. you can't do anything about it..you will need to take it to the shop and tel them to heat up the heatsink to certain temeperature..then the cpu should come off...
do not try twisting it...coz you will end up breaking the core

use a putty knife to remove it. If its totally stuck, then some moron must have used thermal adhesive and you'll need a solvent in addition to the putty knife.
