Hi
Just a simple CPU question, and probably been answered a million times already.
AMD Atlon XP 2200+
Does the 2200+ at the end mean that this processor runs at the Intel equivalent processor.

AMD "performance rates" it's CPUs. As you said, the model number (2200+) is supposed to be comparable to an Intel processor (2.2GHz), even though the actual clock speed is much lower (2200+ runs at 1.8GHz)
ASUS A7N8X-X Athlon XP 1800+ 8.5 x 200MHz 1024MB PC3200 2.5-3-3-7 Asus A9550GE/TD 128MB WinME/WinXP Pro SP2

It does and doesn't. It depends upon what you use that processor for. If you run it for graphics, then it will do as good as a Pentium 4 2.2ghz if not better. If you run it for enocding, burning etc.. then the Pentium 4 at 2.2ghz will do better then the Athlon XP 2200+.

Summary: Most laptops will run the CPU at full speed when it's plugged into the AC, but on battery power, the CPU speed will vary (depending on load) to preserve battery life & keep the CPU temp down. Generall...
