Comment: I installed what I thought was a P4 3.2 ghz processor but when the speed posts and in the bios the speed registers at 3.0. The mb supports up to 3.4 ghz. Am I missing something (other than .2 ghz) or did the seller misrepresent the speed of the processor? I am just curious because I doubt that the .2 ghz would be noticible in my apps. Thanks for your time.

Reply: (edit)Did you buy a PC or just a CPU? If it was just the CPU, didn't you check to see what speed it was before you installed it? Hellz Yea!

Reply: (edit)Can you tell us more about the CPU physically, for example the markings on the chip ? There is only one satisfying way to boot a computer.

Reply: (edit)I bought the CPU -it was both advertised and came in a package that said it was a P4 3.2 . I bought it from Newegg so I feel confidant that at least they assumed it was a 3.2. I don't recall any markings on the processor when I insalled it. I thought it might be something like an outdated bios.Is that possible? Thanks again for your time.

Reply: (edit)Glad you figured it out, I was going to say Newegg dropping the ball is a rarity. There is only one satisfying way to boot a computer.

Reply: (edit)Next step i was goping to say if you still couldn't have figured it out was to run CPU-Z. Oh well you can always overclock it to a 3.2ghz, because then it would be just that.
