Subject: cpu runs at half speed OS: xp proCPU/Ram: amd 2000+ 1gig pc2700 ddr |
Comment: Hi, thanks for the help in advance. I'm having a really unusual problem. Whenever I install a program that needs a reboot or install a driver that requires a reboot to take place, or even if I just simply reboot the computer, it causes the cpu to run at half speed when it boots back up. The computer boots back up real slow and when I can finally look at the info it says it's running at 800+ mhz instead of 1.67 gigahertz. The only way to fix it after it does this is to turn off the computer and unplug it for about 20 minutes. Then I plug it back in and boot up and its back to normal operating speed until the next time I have to do a reboot. Any suggestions as to what might be causing this?
