CPU/Ram: athlon 3.2 1 gig ram

my cpu is pulsing even though theres no apps running and ive shut alot of background apps running to see if i can find the culprit to no avail i if i move mouse across screen it will pause as the cpu pulses i wonder if any 1 has had the same prob and how to fix

First of all, which processor is it exactly?
Have you run any anti-virus/spyware/adaware programs lately?
Provide more information on your computer please.

hi answer to more info on pc the chip is a barton 3.2 athlon xp cpu running at 2.2 the ram is dual xms 2x512 running in dual sync 2x western digital hdd i have run spy bot and adaware the anti virus is agv free 7 mobo is asus delux version 8 with leadtech 6800 gt agp graphics cooled by zalmon flower and 6 fans thanx for your rapid reply i hope this info helps try to solve problem
