Hi, Can anyone help? I'm new to upgrading. My problem is that I changed the cpu from an athlon sempron 2300+ to an athlon xp 2600+ Thoroughbred. Everything was ok running at the right speed 2.09, then the computer crashed. Since then it now says it is running at 1.25, so i changed the cpu back to the old one which is now also saying it is only runing at half speed.

Help, what have i done wrong or need to do?

1.25 ghz sounds like you need to go into the bios and change the FSB to the correct one, since it is at 100 right now...you need to set it to 166 with the multi at 12.5
