cpu problem

please could anyone advise on these two problems 1.i have just upgraded my amd 1400 xp to amd 2400 xp and at the boot screen the computer says amd unknown in the bios the cpu pnp screen says the chip is duron and it runs at 1600 any ideas please also ive downloaded cpu cooler but dont know what the temps are mine are temp 1 21 c temp 2 32 c and temp 3 48 c cheers for anyones help ideas

If you have just upgraded your cpu then it looks like your motherboard doesn't support your new cpu. Go back to the store and purchase a new mobo to go with your new cpu.
One other thing that could work would be trying a bios flash. Go to your mobo's webby and see if there is a bios update to allow your board to support a higher cpu.
