CPU overheating / noisy

when cpu is on load, its fan makes so much noise and sometimes cpu gets off and when i try to power on it, it gives about 3 mono (dead type) beeps. but do not start. After a while, it starts normally. please tell me what would be the problem and what solution you suggest for this. please email me on mehmood_h@hotmail.com

Your cpu may be overheating. Try blowing dust off the fan and heatsink with a can of compressed air. Also, if you can-check the temperatures in the BIOS. You may have to remove the HS/F, clean off the old thermal paste, and apply a small amount of new htermal paste. By the way, you shouldn't post your email adress here.

thanks for replying, mostly the cpu works fine, this is the one i am using now. But i am unable to see any info regarding temperature in BIOS. Also tell me what is HS/F. Is there any way to keep running the fan at one speed.

The cpu(processor) may not be fine if the computer(NOT the cpu) is shutting off. HS/F stands for the heatsink and fan. You can check the temperatures in the BIOS under a menu item like PC Health-try different menus.
