so my computer seemed to be really sluggish lately as i play games and i was wondering why
the other day i touched my computer case and it was reallyyy warm so i thought maybe it was over heating.
the computer itself is custom built but not by me and came with 3 fans including the one on the cpu. one died and so i have 2 currently working fans. i removed the cover on my computer so that it may help keep things cooler but my computer at idle hovers at about 73 degrees when i go to play cs or wow it shoots up with the 90s sometimes when i boot it will even hit 100 degrees!
i cleaned the heat sink and fan today and yet no change.
i think i might need to change the thermal grease inbetween my cpu and heatsink it seemed to just be all crusty and dry.
not really sure what its supposed to look like and sorry cant get a picture up =/
any suggestions would be very helpful

If you cleaned the heatsink you do need to apply thermal paste/grease:

I hope you earthed yourself when cleaning the CPU!!
