I want to overclock my cpu but dont really know how. How do you test your cpu as far as running at full throttle, meaning i have seen people say that their cpu is running @54C with apps running. How do you check your cpu while you have stuff running??? Am i making any sense at all??? Basically i am wanting to know how to overclock, and check cpu temps while running apps. Download Hmonitor and Prime95, run Prime95's torcher test and use Hmonitor to check your temps.

motherboard monitor 5 or speedfan configure mbm 5 to give you a readout of the right temp sensor...speedfan is pretty much automatic
go into bios and compare temps...bios should be more accurate, take note of any difference
i use an actual temp sensor near the cpu core on top and the bios reads the on-board sensor within the cpu socket under the actual cpu, so between the bios and the sensor i get a good idea of what temp i'm at
