Cpu messing up plz help me

When im playing one of my games like warcraft 3, the cpu screen will go black and the moniter light will turn orange like its off but the cpu will still be on. I have scandisked it defraged it anything else i can think of. Plz help me im not a whiz at cpus, do you think its just overheating or an internal problem?
