Ahoy!
Something has happened to my computer that has NOT happened before. It turns on and runs great all the time BUT when I load a game or hit a high-graphics website, the CPU hits 100% in the Task Manager. Everything obviously CRAWLS after that.
I've done countless less anti-virul scans and it hasn't improved. I've tried many things but it still seems to max out the processor when I load a game. I'm thinking about possibly Restoring the computer.
I have around 30 processes running at a time that aren't tasking the CPU at all, but then after a game or something like that, processes like Windows Explorer suck up like 50% of the CPU! Maybe you guys know what's going on?
Where ever you go, there you are.

Have you run anti spy s/w?
also, what was the last thing you did on the comp before this stared happening? like installing something or tweaking something...
looks more of a s/w issue than anything to do with cpu as such. Post this on the XP forum.

Try to install a newer version of the
motherboard and graphic drivers.
Something may have become corrupted in some
way!
Once I had trouble with a program run bad
that ate 100% of the cpu all the time. I
deinstalled it, booted and did a new
installation and it worked fine. The only
problem is that doesn't really fit to your
description!

hi Kailas and everyone. Haven't been around much and just stopped in to see how things are going. Its amazing how thermal paste and cpu temps maintain such an interest level throughout the forum.

your problem is (drum roll plz) you have a slow cpu! up grade. and u won't have the laggy prob(that is too often)
