Posting this because I have been reading through all of the CPU heat problems looking for answers to mine. I was running at 58c at idle and 64c+ during gaming, so I took some of the advise here and added a intake fan to the front of my atx case, that lowered my case temp from 34c to 30c, lowered CPU temp about 1c. I then went out to local PC store and bought a Microfins CPU cooler (copper). They didn't have any special turbo coolers. That lowered my CPU to 55c at idle. I don't like to flash the bios if I don't have to, but sence this was a new board I went to MSI and looked and sure enough they have a new bios because of heat detect problems (go figure). I'm now running at 30c at idle. Just goes to show that you really don't know for sure if what your system says is the temp really is the temp! Anyone know another way to check the temp besides software?
