Hey guys..you guys are great. I have another question. I want to cool down my PC. I have an awsome heat sink and CPU fan and I want to add another fan or two in my Case because its still too hot for me. (overclocking rules) I have looked at the back and saw that there are two open fan slots/vents at the back of my case. what should I do? Keep a fan blowing inside onto the mother board, Blowing out? Keep two fans blowing in? Two blowing out or top one going in and the bottom going out. Help me
Thanks
Ram
PS. oh yeah I have Anthlon XP 2000+.

Fans in the back should be blowing out and fans in the front should be blowing in. If all you have is two in the back, I'd have the higher one blowing out and leave the lower one fanless.

Sounds good. There a couple of general rules: 1) Have more exhaust fans than intake fans. 2) Locate the exhaust fans near the top of the case and the intake fans near the bottom. 'Cuz heat rises... Good luck.

I disagree with BillyBobs 1 above. Try to keep the same number of intake/outtake fans or better yet the same cfm (cubic feet per minute).

The reason is to keep pressure differences inside and outside the case as low as possible. This reduces fan noise and keeps your pc quiet. It is also the optimal way to remove heat from your system.

Remember that your cooling depends on the weakest link. Tons of outtake fans aren't going to do anything if you don't provide enough intake air.

It really depends on the case. I have more venting holes near the bottom of my case sides, and have one more exhaust fan than intake. The the difference in air being exhausted and brought in is offset by a slight vacuum effect bringing in cooler air from the sides of my case. Indeed, I can feel air being sucked in from the bottom even though there's no fan there to do it.

If you've got venting holes near the top of the sides as well, then equal number of fans is the way to go, but most cases are like mine. If you have an uneven number of case fans, put the extra one as exhaust.
