Simple Question. Does the fan on the processor blow air twards the chip or away? Mine's blowing air twards the processor and I think I should take off the fan and put it the other way. Am I right?

well i once tested this theory with a duron 900 temps were pretty much the same blowing from and onto the heatsink

you get more flow at the base of your heatsink if the fan is pushing air towards the heatsink. If you want to suck air off the heatsink, you need to cover the sides of the heatsink in order to get airflow coming in from the bottom(where the cpu is), so that air can only enter near the base where the heat is being generated. This needs more careful design so that you maximise heat dissipation.

I would think whos ever manufacturing the desing of the fan heatsink would consider your point and being as they are "engineers" they have choosen this particular way for a good reason (hint, maxum heat dissapation).

also, I forgot to mention. consider this simple analogy. If you were to trying to cool your face with a house fan, would your face cool faster with the fan pushing air towards your face or sucking air away from your face. I would imagine air blowing towards your face would be alot more satisfying to feel.
