Hey,

Just wondering if I could get some help here, we purchased a System from a local retailer bout 6 months ago, now summer has come, and the problems have just began, I am presuming its the heat, as its an overheating issue, but it is odd, most systems can handle standard summer, but CPU Temp will not be below 70 Degress unless the side of teh case is off and a big fan is blowing directly in, We even tried replacing the CPU Fan and adding two case fans, but the case fans dropped the temp 2 Degrees and the machine still reboots on its own regularly, I was jsut wondering if anyone could provide a solutions... Is it the CPU or even motherboard? It should be able to cope with this weather most peoples do and the room is overly warm.

Any help would be appriciated.

Thanks

What is your avg room temp & your system temp? Where are you getting the temp readings from? What was your avg CPU temp before summer?

If it's an accurate reading, 70C is definitely too hot. Did you remove the heatsink/fan from the CPU, thoroughly clean both of them of the old thermal material & apply a fresh layer of paste? Paste should be applied to the CPU as a paper-thin layer...you should use a dab about the size of a grain of rice & spread it thinly & evenly over the core. Using too much paste lessens the heat transfer to the heatsink & causes higher temps. Also, the heatsink has to be installed the correct way...if it's put on backwards, the core won't make full contact & it will overheat.

Avg room temp is 20 Degress Celsius or so, pretty standard, the room isnt overly hot, sys temp is also hight 60's 70 Degrees, the temp reading are from the BIOS, the CPU Fan and Heat sink has been replaced twice with brand new ones and the Heatisink is on correctly... anychance its a faulty CPU?.

Thanks
