I was tryin to clean up dust n stuff from cpu and kinda dislodged my heat sink which was attached to the cpu.So i needs ta revove my CPU from the heatsink to reinstall it rite? So if i do how do I get the cpu off,its pretty stuck with the thermal(stock)pad. I stuck pleeze help!!!!!Im begging you

At least it fell off while you were cleaning it, instead of falling off while you're out of the room.

You'll need to remove the heatsink (hopefully you didn't mean to say that the cpu came out of the socket and stuck to the heatsink).

Once the heatsink is removed, you need to remove the thermal pad. If your cpu is stuck, you'll probably need to melt the pad...maybe with a hair drier. (heat up the heatsink if possible, rather than heating up your cpu).

You'll need to get a thermal compound (like arctic silver ceramique). Clean off the cpu and heatsink as directed, and apply the compound as instructed.

If you lost a pin from the cpu (from it falling out of the socket), then you're screwed.

ye i meant it (CPU stuck to the heatsink. Thx for the suggestions.Guess i better go hunt down a hair drier. l8r. Hairdyer??

make sure you dont have the cpu locked in place when your trying to take it out

Ok well i nstalled it all again but nuthin, i checked my video card, im still grtting the blank test screen on monitor like when it's not plugged in. It was working perfectly before I decided to clean it and loosened off my cpu.Is it possible its fried?
