My CPU is always 100% and obviously make the computer super slow. I am stuck on trying to figure this out, can someone please help me.
Thanks.

Hi jbnails nice to meetya i am vicmc :-D
what is using your cpu? if you do not know hold down ctrl / alt and delete at the same time to open task manager click on the processes tab then on the top gray bar where it lists user name cpu mem usage click on the cpu writing that will organize the proccesses by cpu usage find the one using the most if it is system idle then not to worry this is fine and not really using anything also what program is telling you you are using 100 percent cpu?

System Idle ProcessUnder CPU column, everything is 00 except for spoolsv.exe which is 99.
I think all this started when I wanted to update my ITunes and tried d/l the newest version. I am afraid to turn things off for fear of doing something critical.

OK, I ended all the ones I thought belonged to me d/l'ing the ITunes update. I then ended the spoolsv.exe. ITunes d/l'ed fine and during the installation, spoolsv.exe goes up to 99 and the CPU to 100, therefore virtually stalling my computer. I just ended spoolsv.exe during the installation process and everything installed fine.
I guess the question is why does spoolsv.exe "fill up" causing the CPU to 100% and stall my computer?
Is there something wrong with spoolsv.exe?
Do I need to set something somewhere in my computer to prevent this?

spoolsv.exe has to do with the printer. Do you have files waiting in the print queue? If not for the printer itself, possibly MS Image Writer?

I have (had) spoolsv.exe is four (4) locations within my computer:
C:\I386
C:\windows\system32
C:\windows\service pack files\i386
C:\windows\prefetchI uninstaled all printer related (I think) software / programs and reinstalled again.
Things look OK in the short term but it was too late to really test it. I'll post again in the next day with a success or failure verdict.
