Hi,

i want to change my ram timings but i do not know how... CPU-Z reports:

Frequency 180.8 Mhz
FSB:DRAM CPU/14
Cas#Latancy 3.0 clocks
Ras# to Cas# Delay 3 Clocks
Ras# Precharge Clocks
Cycle Time (Trans) 7 Clocks
Bank Cycle Time (Trc) 10 Clocks
Dram Idle Timer 16 Clocks

i have an asus-a8nsli deluxe mobo... what do i have to do to change the timings?

thankyou

Go into your system BIOS, you'll be able to do it from there, but be aware having too tight timings can make your system unstable.

Let's see if I get this right....

- the 4400+ X2 runs at 2200Mhz (11 x 200)

- your RAM is running at approx 181MHz, which according to CPUZ is, CPU/14. That would put your CPU at approx 2534MHz, meaning your CPU freq is about 230MHz.

Correct so far?

If you have PC3200 RAM, you should configure your settings to get it to run at 200MHz. If you haven't lowered the HTT multi, I suggest you change it from 5x to 4x, then raise the CPU freq to 250MHz. That will keep the HTT bus at 1000MHz & put your CPU at 2750MHz. A CPU voltage increase *may* be necessary to stablize the overclock. If you can accomplish this, THEN experiment with the timings. Three of the more common stock timings (looser to tighter) are:

3-4-4-8, 2.5-3-3-7, 2-2-2-6

If you click the SPD tab in CPUZ, you'll find a list of timings that are pre-programed into your RAM for different bus speeds. That may help.
