Comment:

I am building a new pc soon and cannot decide what processor to use.

I will use the PC for mostly image editing and listning to music etc. I use Photoshop CS2 alot and really need a good processor for it. I also want to use a couple of games such as Need For Speed Carbon and Test Drive Unlimted.

The two processors I cannot decide between are the Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 (LGA775 Allendalewhich) which runs at 1.86Ghz costs £120 and the AMD Opteron 1212(AMD2) which runs at 2Ghz and costs £135.

Both are dual core and have 1MB L2 cache per core. They are also both 64 bit.

This will be paired with 2GB RAM and most likley the ATi X1800 GTO 256 PCI-E.

I need this computer to be stable as its most liley going to be on 24/7.

Thanks for any help in advance.
