ok so i was doing some research on the core 2 as i like doing for new products and i was starting i found out that the core 2 is in the 478pin format and that confused me as thats an old tecnology but then found out that was the mobile version of the core 2 but i would like to know if i can fit that into an old 478 board anyways do u think it maybe possible cause that cold be intresting

CPU: P4 2.66 GHz
RAM: 1GB
HDD: 250GB
GPU: Geforce FX 5500

Laptop:

CPU: Turion 64 x2 Tl-50
RAM: 2GB
HDD: 160GB
GPU: Mobility Radeon x1600 128mb dedicated, 384Mb shared 512

No because the voltage regulator module is diff on a regular desktop 478pin motherboard then on a socket M 478pin motherboard.

Also, while those mobile Core 2 Duos indeed use the 478-pin socket, that socket is not to be confused with the *real* socket 478 that's also known as FCPGA4. Core Duo's 478 socket is FCPGA6, a.k.a Socket M.

oh ok just curious as it seemed odd to me
