Comment:

I have an ECS 755-A2 with a socket 754 Athlon64 3200+ CPU. The MOBO has the original BIOS: Ver 1.0B 06/25/2004. As far as I can tell, I’ve never been able to enable the “Cool ‘n Quiet” features of this CPU/MOBO.

Would a BIOS update (1.1b 9/29/05) help?

Is it worth it?

Currently, everything is running fine.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

You don't have the option (greyed out) or you can't get it saved when enabled ?

I agree; computing.net does need an edit button.

Sabertooth, where do you see the option to enable?

If you are running Windows64 yes.
If you are running 32bit windows then you need this one......AMD Athlon™ 64 Processor Driver for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 Version (exe) 1.2.2.2

Find it here.......http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/content_type/utilities/amdcpu.exe
