I put together my 2nd computer in June, and it has been running smoothly since. I came home after school [I usually put the computer in sleep mode on the way out the door] and came home to what looked like a normal sleeping computer. The green LED power light up front was still flashing slowly and everything else was off. I tried pressing the power button an got no response. After troubleshooting a few things, no dice. I have tried switching ram, resetting CMOS, checking all the plugins, looking for fried capacitors, and even checked the wire between the power switch and the mobo. Still nothing. My set up is

ASUS motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ 2.6 GHz Dual-Core
Western Digital Caviar 500GB 7200RPM
Windows Vista Ultimate
G.Skill 4x1GB RAM
MSI Video Card
Corsair 520 Watt modular power supply

The only response I get from the entire computer is the green light on the mobo when I turn on the PS. The power switch and everything else is non-responsive. What should I check now? Am I warranted in thinking the problem is either power supply or mobo? Thank you for your help!

It's your PSU or HDD

it was the PSU. Thanks for narrowing it down! Easy fix, and I didn't have to cry over a lost hdd
